The remastered edition of Beyond Good & Evil is set to debut next week, featuring enhanced visuals, additional content within the game, and extra features

Following some playful hints and the removal of the original version from listings, Ubisoft has announced with unexpected swiftness the launch date for the Beyond Good & Evil 20th Anniversary Edition remaster. A social media update, which has since been removed, indicated that the title will be available for PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and Switch on June 25th, along with additional in-game features.

Ubisoft revealed progress on the remastering of its cherished 2003 action-adventure, Beyond Good and Evil, last November, following an accidental release to some Ubisoft+ subscribers of an unfinished version. Surprising many, details have surfaced a bit sooner than foreseen, as Ubisoft had initially advised fans to stay tuned for news in tonight's Limited Run Games event. The date for PC and console release is confirmed for June 25th, and according to reports from Gematsu, the remaster will boast various enhancements in presentation and new in-game content. Enhancements include 4K resolution at 60 frames per second as well as general improvements in graphics, controls, and audio quality. Auto-saving and cross-saving functions are included among the updates as well.

Moreover, the original quest of reporter Jade as she uncovers an appalling state conspiracy, with assistance from her pig companion Pey'j, will now include new treasure quests that delve deeper into Jade's background, establishing a storyline connection to the mysterious Beyond Good and Evil 2, as well as "new rewards" to discover during exploration. Additionally, there is a new speedrun mode, over 20 new achievements, and a gallery that showcases behind-the-scenes art, videos, and more.

Ubisoft also temporarily revealed a trailer, which has since been withdrawn, likely to be presented again during the Limited Run Games event tonight at 7 pm BST/11 am PT/2 pm ET, where it is anticipated that pricing will be discussed. The price is a point of curiosity after Ubisoft's choice to remove the more affordably priced earlier edition from Steam and the Xbox Store this week, although it is still available on GOG for a low cost.

The Beyond Good & Evil 20th Anniversary Edition is set to be accessible for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Switch, and PC, aiming for a release this coming Tuesday, June 25th. Meanwhile, fans are eager for updates on the prodigiously delayed Beyond Good & Evil 2.
